How to Link to Articles from Library Databases

Faculty can link directly to the full-text articles, e-books, images, and videos available through the Library databases. Students log in to your myLesley course and click a link to get the item(s) you have selected.

To create a direct link to an item, you need to use a "persistent link". Databases companies may also call these permalinks, stable URLs, durable URLs, document URLs, or DOIs (digital object identifiers).

The persistent link must include the Lesley University ezproxy prefix. If the URL does not have this prefix, you can easily add it to the front of the link. If this ezproxy prefix is missing, students will not be able to get to your materials from off-campus.

Our proxy prefix is: http://ezproxyles.flo.org/login?url=

Any URL with the ezproxy prefix attached will contain two "http" elements. Note that there are NO SPACES in the URL.

A correctly prefixed URL is very long and will look something like this:
http://ezproxyles.flo.org/login?url=http://www.something.com/abc/def/ghi/123xyz
